Nilüfer is a district of Bursa Province of Turkey. It was established in 1987. It is one of the seventeen districts of Bursa Province. It is established as the main residential development area of Bursa in order to meet the housing needs as well as industrial and commercial structures.Nilufer municipality is one of the three central district municipalities of Bursa, which is the fourth biggest in Turkey.Three central districts-Nilüfer, Osmangazi and Yıldırım- were established in Bursa after it had Metropolitan status in 1987.
Nilüfer, which was established on the western side of the city, was considered, as a mass construction area to meet the housing needs of Bursa. Nilüfer opened its arms to Bursa, which was developing through the west and considered as the "Bursa of the future" for this reason.
E-Municipality
Nilüfer aims to increase communication with its citizens with providing a modern municipality services benefited from technological developments and it started to give website service after initiating Nilüfer 7/24 communication line. This site aims to advertise Nilüfer city all over Turkey and International level and includes history of Nilüfer and acknowledgements about Nilüfer.
Nilüfer Municipality put into service "Alo Nilüfer 7/24 Communication Line" in December 16, 2000 to increase participation of the citizens. Citizens can communicate their requests and suggestions and get necessary information with keys of the telephone that serves from a specific number. This service enlarged the two-way communication horizon.
