The city of Santa Fe is one of the ten largest and oldest cities in Argentina. Located in the central-eastern region of the country, it is the capital of the homonymous province.

 Administrative structureThe Executive Department is directed by the Mayor (Intendente), who holds his office by direct election for four years.

It is organized into thirteen secretariats: General; Government; Estate; Public Works; Water resources; Social development; Strategic Development and Resilience; Culture; Institutional Relations and Communication; Urban planning; Control; Education and health. Secretaries, Directions, Departments and Programs and Institutional Projects depend on each Secretariat. In turn, the Municipality has decentralized entities such as the Santa Fe Habitat Agency and the Agency for Cooperation, Investment, and Foreign Trade.

Likewise, the Private Secretariat, the Municipal Prosecutor's Office, the Municipal General Superintendent's Office, the Administrative Justice of Misdemeanors, the Directorate of Risk Management, the Directorate of Citizen Rights and the Directorate of Labor Schools all report directly to the Intendancy.

The Administration of the Municipality is composed of government authorities, staff and cabinet staff, reaching a total of 3849 people.
