T

he Global Platform for Sustainable Cities (GPSC), led by the World Bank in collaboration with other multilateral development banks and UN agencies, supports cities to adopt an integrated approach to urban planning and financing.   As part of a $150 million program funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the GPSC currently covers 27 cities across 11 pilot countries with the prospect of more cities joining in the near future.

The GPSC Annual Meeting is a yearly event that brings together mayors, city leaders, experts, representatives from financial institutions, organizations, UN agencies and private sector to learn and share best practices principles in order to forge a common vision of urban sustainability.  The GPSC 2017 Meeting theme is “Innovation & Smart solutions for urban sustainability”. This theme will be illustrated through a Mayor’s RoundTable, high-level panel discussions and a series of in-depth learning events.
